Los Angeles City College
Solar on LACC’s New LEED Sci/Tech Building
Sun Integration was brought onboard as the photovoltaic sub-contractor for the new Science and Technology building at Los Angeles City College (LACC)
Sun Integration designed and installed a 47.1 kW DC solar electric system which gave the new building the necessary points to qualify as a LEED certified building.
Sun Integration was a sub-contractor to Sinanian Development, Inc., a general contractor who has a long history of developing large commercial projects throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Their repertoire includes various school and college projects. They won the project by providing the lowest bid. This was the third project Sinanian Development and Sun Integration partnered together for.
Leadership in Energy Environmental Design Certificate (LEED) is a recognition that a construction project or building can attain by utilizing environmentally friendly building practices during construction or remodeling. A prestigious benchmark, LEED is the Green Building Rating System developed by the US Green Building Council.
Along with helping Los LACC achieve its LEED, Sun Integration also helped contribute to the Los Angeles Community College District’s (LACCD) Renewable Energy Plan and its effort to make all nine of its community colleges sustainable.
